Deputy Head of Enrolled School (Years 1-10)
- School Sites - 3 in Christchurch, 2 in Wellington and 8 in Auckland
- Preferably this role is based in Auckland but could be based in Christchurch
Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education is a specialist school for Deaf/Harding of Hearing (DHH) students. We have a focus on growth, learning and collaboration. You will be joining a nationwide team and you will share their passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality education and services to DHH students and the whanau we support. Ko Taku Reo has a role for an experienced leader in our Enrolled School based in either Auckland or Christchurch.
We provide classroom teaching to 120 DHH students in 13 provisions attached to partner schools in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Our students range in age from 5 – 21. The school employs 34 FTTE teaching staff with Teacher Aides and Educational Interpreters and is supported by Ko Taku Reo’s strong Corporate, Communications, IT and Specialist Services Teams.
The Deputy Head of Enrolled School (Yr 1-10) is a leadership position that supports the Head of Enrolled School and works closely with the Deputy Head of Enrolled School (Yr 11-15), collaboratively leading teams to strengthen best practice in the school service. Priorities of this role include the management of school procedures and policies, leadership in teaching and learning of school enrolled students and staff. This role assists in the development, monitoring and implementation of all assessment and teaching programmes in the school service and review and monitoring of student progress, achievements and attendance. This role will support staff in enhancing students’ wellbeing and achievement. Your work will intersect with our wider student cohort, as well as staff development and pedagogical initiatives.
