NZSL PLD Project Coordinator
Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education is seeking a proactive and skilled Project Coordinator to support the delivery of our New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and Deaf Bilingual-Bicultural (Bi-Bi) Professional Learning and Development (PLD) Contract, funded by the Ministry of Education.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a national initiative aimed at enhancing NZSL capability and Deaf Bi-Bi teaching strategies across Aotearoa, ultimately improving learning outcomes for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) ākonga.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
Reporting to the NZSL PLD Contract Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Coordinating and monitoring multiple workstreams within scope, timeline and budget.
- Supporting project planning, reporting and resource management.
- Maintaining project documentation and overseeing administrative processes.
- Facilitating internal and external communications.
- Coordinating logistics for meetings, workshops and NZSL lesson timetables.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement, change management and risk tracking.
This role is central to ensuring project success through effective coordination, communication and oversight.
ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 3–5 years of relevant project coordination or administration experience.
- Is confident managing timelines, resources and budgets.
- Has proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel etc.).
- Is detail-oriented, highly organised and communicates clearly across diverse teams.
- Can demonstrate initiative, flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Has experience with project tools (e.g., Teamwork Projects) – desirable, not essential.
- Understands Deaf culture and is willing to engage in learning NZSL (proficiency preferred).
