NZSL Tutor - Dunedin
ABOUT US / MŌ MĀTOU
At Ko Taku Reo, we are dedicated to nurturing the social and emotional wellbeing of New Zealand’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) children, helping them shape their identity and achieve their academic goals. Join our passionate nationwide team, committed to delivering high-quality education and support services to DHH students and their whānau. Be part of a community that values your enthusiasm and dedication to making a meaningful impact.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
We are seeking a New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) Tutor to deliver high-quality one-on-one NZSL instruction and Deaf cultural responsiveness programs to Deaf students, their whānau and team members. In partnership with our education team, you will design and implement tailored programs and materials that support NZSL learners, improve their signing skills and raise awareness of Deaf culture. This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) role and is based at our Sensory Resource Centre in Dunedin.
Given our students' wide geographical spread and occasional isolation, much of your interaction will be via video calls. We need someone who can effectively engage with learners remotely and ensure every Deaf student receives a top-tier education in a supportive environment.
