Outreach Support Lead

We are seeking four exceptional people to step into the role of Outreach Support Lead. This new role is in response to the recommendations from the ERO report. This fixed-term opportunity (through to the end of the year) and plays a vital role in supporting and strengthening leading learning across our Outreach service.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
The Outreach Support Lead will play a key role in:
- Professionally mentoring and guiding Team Leads across the Outreach service
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality RTD services
- Strengthening consistency of practice across regions
- Providing coaching, induction and leadership support
- Understanding and supporting the guidelines and requirements of Outreach in your daily work
- Embodying our values and contributing to the strategic direction of Outreach
These roles are part-time:
- Region A and B: 0.8 FTTE, including a 0.2 FTTE teaching component (x2 roles)
- Region C and D: 0.6 FTTE, including a 0.4 FTTE teaching component (x2 roles)
These roles report directly to the Head of Outreach and have a day-to-day functional relationship with the Regional Leader for their area. The location will be in the region you are supporting. These roles will require significant travel, so a willingness and ability to travel regularly is essential.
YOU WILL HAVE / KEI A KOE:
We are looking for people with:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach, support and inspire others
- A sound understanding of the NZ Curriculum and Deaf culture
- A current, full driver’s licence
- Ongoing proactive commitment to strengthening communication through the use of NZSL
- Experience in a coaching/mentoring or internal review role
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
- The ability to problem-solve, build systems and lead professional growth
- The ability to demonstrate resilience and to confidently uphold best practice, even when challenged
