Senior Administrator - Teaching and Learning
ABOUT US / MŌ MĀTOU
Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is the national provider of education services to New Zealand’s Deaf and hard of hearing children. At Ko Taku Reo we work to nurture the social and emotional wellbeing of New Zealand’s Deaf and hard of hearing children. We assist them to form their own identity, as well as providing support and resources to help them to Grow, Excel, Choose and Belong.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
This is a fulltime, 12 month fixed term role (covering parental leave) that supports the Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning who is based in Auckland. This is a key role supporting and providing administrative support for travel and accommodation, resource delivery, changes to staffing and coordination of the many resources required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the team.
- Coordinate meetings, training sessions, events, travel, accommodation and calendars for leaders and staff.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, reports, correspondence and other business documents.
- Assist with financial administration including raising purchase orders.
- Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide administrative support for projects and organisational initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the Administration Manager and wider team to prioritise workloads and ensure efficient service delivery.
ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE
Reporting to the Administration Manager based in Christchurch and working closely with a small team, this role is for a Senior Administrator/Executive Assistant and significant experience (with a minimum of at least four years) is required as we have a lot going on and it’s not for the faint hearted!! You are a highly organised and proactive administrator with experience in coordination, operations or support roles. You are confident managing multiple priorities and working across systems in a fast-paced environment.
You bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships across teams. You are comfortable using Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel) and take a structured, solutions-focused approach to your work.
You will be experienced in developing collaborative relationships with a broad range of people. An affinity with and understanding of Deaf culture and NZSL proficiency would be preferred as strong communication skills will be essential to this role.
