Teaching & Learning Data Analyst Lead

Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is looking for a Teaching & Learning Data Analyst Lead to help us shape the future of education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners across Aotearoa.
THE ROLE / TE MAHI
In this unique dual-role position, you'll combine your expertise in teaching with your skills in data analysis to drive strategic improvements in teaching and learning. You’ll be responsible for developing and managing data systems that support evidence-based decision making, while helping staff and leaders better understand and utilise data to improve learner outcomes.
This permanent role includes a 0.2 teaching component (flexible/negotiable), with a strong focus on designing and maintaining systems that analyse student progress, support continuous improvement and enhance the efficiency of our education delivery. You’ll explore emerging technologies like AI and machine learning to optimise data use and maintain relevance in an evolving digital landscape.
You'll be part of a dynamic Assessment and Reporting Team, providing leadership and mentoring while promoting professional growth, innovation and cultural competence. A strong understanding of Deaf culture, NZSL (or willingness to learn) and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are essential.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: / HE AHA TA MATOU E RAPU ANA:
- Registered teacher with experience in data analysis
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of Deaf education and inclusive practices
- Ability to lead change, build trust, and work across teams
